RFID is a broad family of contactless identification technologies covering different frequencies and protocols. NFC is a short-range 13.56 MHz contactless technology commonly used for smartphone interaction, contactless cards, and short-range data exchange.
For smartphone-based applications such as digital business cards, URL cards, and other NDEF applications, NFC-compatible chips are commonly used. Other RFID technologies may be more suitable for access control, identification, inventory, or longer-range applications. Explore our custom NFC Cards collection.
The right NFC chip depends on your existing reader, application, required memory, security level, smartphone compatibility, data requirements, and budget.
NTAG chips are commonly used for smartphone-based NFC applications, while MIFARE products are widely used for contactless card systems. MIFARE DESFire is often considered for applications requiring more advanced security functions.
If you already have an NFC reader, existing card, system specification, or application requirement, send us the details and we can help evaluate a suitable chip and card configuration.
Many NFC cards can be used with both iPhone and Android devices, particularly cards based on NFC-compatible chips and standard NDEF applications.
Actual compatibility depends on the NFC chip, data format, operating system, application, and device. For smartphone-based projects, we recommend testing samples with the actual target devices before mass production.
Yes. When an NFC card needs to work with an existing reader, access-control system, hotel system, application, or other customer-specific platform, we recommend compatibility testing before mass production.
We can provide samples for testing with your actual equipment. Once the configuration is approved, bulk production follows the confirmed specifications.
Yes. We can provide NFC card encoding and personalization according to the confirmed project requirements.
Depending on the chip and application, encoding can include URLs, NDEF data, serial numbers, QR codes, barcodes, and other supported information.
Many NFC chips support repeated data writing, while some applications can use password protection or memory locking.
Whether a card can be rewritten, protected, or permanently locked depends on the selected chip and configuration. We can recommend a suitable configuration based on how the NFC card will be used.
NFC is designed for short-range communication, and most NFC card applications are intended for close-range tapping.
Actual read range depends on the chip, antenna design, card construction, smartphone or reader, and operating environment. We can provide samples for testing and help evaluate the card configuration for your required performance.
Yes. Supported MIFARE DESFire products provide advanced cryptographic security features, with the exact functions depending on the specific DESFire generation and project configuration.
For applications requiring stronger authentication or protected data, we can help evaluate whether a DESFire solution is appropriate for your system.
Yes. We can provide available chip specifications and relevant technical documentation for project evaluation.
If you already use a specific reader, existing card, or system, sharing that information can also help us evaluate compatibility and recommend a suitable NFC card configuration. Feel free to contact our engineering team.
